Love Sue James: Office Romance

Have a secret crush on someone in the office? Here are some tips on how to turn it into love...
  • Make sure you only pursue fellow singletons. The married staff members may be used for harmless flirting ONLY!
  • Been flirting with the IT guy but he hasn't asked you out? Some people are very shy about office romance, so make the first move!
  • Not sure if the lady in Marketing is the right one for you, try the "it's just lunch" concept and gather a group of like-minded individuals for an inter-office lunch and see how she interacts with everyone, including you.
  • Keep it casual. You never know if things will work out with an office romance, so set some simple ground rules from the start so if the relationship ends, there are no hard feelings.
  • Copiers can be used for more than printing the quarterly report! Let your imagination run wild and print up some interesting inter-office memos to each other.
  • Need to keep your office romance quiet? Be smart about it. Don't drive to work together and park in the company lot! Smooching sessions in the stairwell are also fraught with danger. Keeping it secret is smart for your careers and can add a bit of danger and spice to the relationship.
  • Don't hit the "All Company" email address when you call her pet names. It's best to keep your work emails and chats rated PG. In fact, it's probably best to avoid personal messages in work e-mails.  Save your sexy messages for home or texts.
  • Limit your group trips to the supply closet. If both of you are required to get supplies and it takes 25 minutes to retrieve paper clips and pens, you might raise some suspicions.
Office romances are not for everyone and remember, if you break-up it can make your work-life hell! If your job has nothing to offer you other than a paypacket and you are looking for love in East Yorkshire then Sue James Introductions can help. Contact sue@suejamesintroductions.co.uk for more details. Why Keep looking when I can do it for you?

How to Start Dating After a Divorce

Day after day I hear the reasons why people can't get a date. Some singles have rich imaginations. Here are the latest testimonials that start in this way:

I can't get a date because...
* Nothing works for me.
* I'm bored with life and no one wants to talk to me.

* The only guy I ever loved married someone else.
* I'm 45, never been married and the odds of my finding someone are zero.

* I'm 64 and divorced three times. Who would want me?

Whatever reason you have for not dating, know this -- just because you don't know how to get a date doesn't mean that you can't. If you want to date, and if you want to meet someone special, you can learn how to do it! To further prove my point, every one of the above people who said these things eventually learned to date, and three out of five of them have already met someone and fallen in love. The other two will also find their partners if they keep working at it. Would you like to know how they did it? First, they changed their minds and stopped thinking it couldn't be done. Second, they took action.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, a day of celebrating love and romance with the partner of your dreams, but where did it all start...

The day is named after Saint Valentine, and was established in 496 AD. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering chocolates and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). The day first became associated with love in the circle of Chaucer in the Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

You may be celebrating with a meal, flowers, chocolates or expressing your love with a card but if you are single and on the lookout for romance then maybe Sue James Introductions can help.

Valentine's Day: Love Beyond Romance

Mixed feelings arise once February hits. Valentine’s Day pulls out people’s emotions, and not always in a good way. Some people hate it because they don’t have a significant other; some people love it because romance is in the air.
For guys, it can be an excuse to give a crush a gift to express feelings. For girls, it can be an excuse to accept gifts from a secret admirer.
But Valentine’s Day is not all about Cupid’s arrow or romance. It’s a day dedicated to love — all different kinds of love — and should not be restricted to just romance. Read More

Rosemary for Valentine's Romance

In many cultures, rosemary has a long history as an aphrodisiac, an herb with the power to keep fidelity and love strong.

So why not tap that history to grow a little romance of your own on Valentine's Day? This meal isn't speedy, but the effort will win you the admiration of your love.

Start by making the pots de creme (the recipe makes an extra two servings in case you're craving more chocolate later) to give them plenty of time to chill. Then get all your ingredients organized and prepped up. Everything else will go together without too much trouble. Note: For an accompanying soup, see the recipe below for cream of cauliflower and rosemary soup.

Valentine's Flowers Spark Bedroom Romance

Men and women hoping to get a little bedroom action this Valentine's Day might want to forget about extravagant gifts this year and give their loved ones flowers instead. A recent survey found more than 25% of respondents would be more likely to sleep with someone if they received flowers for Valentine's Day.

The survey, performed by leading online flower delivery service Serenata Flowers, asked more than 1,100 people if they would be more likely to sleep with someone who sent them flowers on Valentine's. Men and women responded similarly, with 34% of women and 36% of men saying they would.

Novel Ways to a Woman's Heart

Interesting story from USA Today...

Gentlemen: If you want to show the woman you love how much you care, take a page from a romance novel: look into her eyes, focus on what she says and really talk to her.

"It's the kind of communication that most women yearn for," says best-selling author Susan Elizabeth Phillips. "Conversation is very satisfying to many women who love the connection that comes from it."
Yes, romance novels are fantasies, but men in real life can learn from them and up their game when it comes to communicating, Phillips says.

In honor of Valentine's Day next week, USA TODAY asked several romance writers to share their secrets for a more romantic life. One of the main reasons readers enjoy romances is because the men in the books really talk to the women, says best-selling romance writer Jayne Ann Krentz.

Who's celebrating 50 years of Romance?

Barbie and Ken, that's who. Ken Carson — better known as the Ken doll — is a man on a mission as Valentine's Day approaches.

Theirs is a complicated love story, to be sure, which has played out over half a century, and involved some fashion gaffes (both sides), ill-advised personas (Palm Beach Sugar Daddy Ken?) and bad-hair decades (his, the 1960s through the '90s).

But things are looking up for toydom's most famous sidekick. Read More...

The Unexpected Costs of Online Dating

It's the day that many people just have to have a date. Valentine's Day brings big business to flower shops, restaurants and online dating services.

More than 20 million people visit an online dating website every month. Not everyone has a happy experience, so it's important to do research before signing up with any dating service.

Last year, consumers filed more than 2,700 complaints nationwide against dating services.
The most common complaints come from people not satisfied with the number or the quality of the dates they receive through the services.

But some people, in their rush to sign up, gloss over important information about the terms and fees charged for membership on a service.

Trying her luck as an author, Jersey Shore's JWoww offered up her two cents on the rules of dating, booty calls and looking “fresh to death.”

In her new book, “The Rules According to JWoww,” the “Jersey Shore” star dished on the dating world by saying, “If it smells like a hookup…it is a hookup. Don’t smush too soon.”

Continuing on, Jenni advises that "hair belongs on your head ...nowhere else," and a "sloppy drunk is not a good look for anyone."

How do You Know You're in Love?

US Network Fox News recently featured these seven tips that reveal how you will know when you're in love...

You’re suddenly shy, at least initially. Even the most confident can feel timid, anxious, awkward, and even fearful around a crush. You may turn pale, flush, tremble, stammer, sweat, feel dizzy, breathe faster, get weak in the knees and have “butterflies in your stomach.” While such symptoms are flu-like, you’ve been struck with no more than a love bug.

You’re suddenly manic. You may have lost your appetite or find yourself sleepless, yet feeling totally energized, even hyperactive. Know that you have your brain to blame. Elevated concentrations of dopamine, and its chemical derivative norepinephrine, are basically hijacking your brain, lowering your serotonin levels. These neuron-transmitters, known as monoamines, are what make us feel loopy with love.

You’re obsessed. Your “love object” has taken on what psychologists call a “special meaning.” This sweetie has become unique, novel, and all-important — the center of your universe. You are infatuated, focusing your energy and passion on every little thing associated with your honey.
Elevated levels of dopamine in your brain make for more focused attention and motivation in directing and attaining your amour goals. You are consumed with “intrusive thinking,” fantasizing and daydreaming constantly about your beloved. One survey found that the love-obsessed reported thinking of their beloved for more than 85 percent of their waking hours. Not surprisingly, couples can describe how they fell in love with each other years later.

You’ve changed. You may find that you’re revamping yourself. Between your clothing style, mannerisms, habits, and even values, you’re willing to do almost anything and everything to win your loved one’s affections.

You’re on the ride of your life. Until the relationship offers security, you may feel like you’re on a roller coaster. When things are good, you’re on “cloud 9.” But if a loved one is unresponsive right away, indicates something negative, seems indifferent ... basically, does anything to rattle you, you may feel despair, depressed, rage, mopey and listless until the situation is resolved. In Fisher’s survey, 79 percent of men and 83 percent of women reported dissecting an adored one’s actions.

You’re sporting rose-colored glasses these days. Passion makes for perfect. While the love-struck can name faults their love object has, unlike the rest of us, they see these defects as charming and endearing. Love is blind. And you are willing to go to great lengths to make sure that the illusion you’ve created remains unscathed.

You have no desire for anyone else. You want sexual and emotional union with your one and only. Yet while lust — the craving for sexual gratification — is a major player in your passion pursuits — the desire for sex and monogamy are less important than the desire for an emotional union. Men and women ache to have their love returned more than anything.

How to be Romantic

Being romantic is hard work. Some people think that romance is easy, that anybody can be romantic with very little work. This is not true. To be romantic there are a lot of things you must know about romance and a lot of situations you must prepare for. For example, you and your beloved plan a date for next Friday night. You ask where she'd like to go. "Oh, I don't know," is her reply. "Surprise me. I know you'll think of something special." What do you do? Give up?
