Many have the belief that men are generally atracted to women who are hard to get, the whole wanting what you can't have thing works to a degree but my advice is be careful.
I agree, it is much better to play it cool in the initial stages. This gives you time to get to know your date on an equal level. I always recommend that if you realise you like a guy on the first date, the last thing to do is let this be known as you could create the wrong impression. So initially, yes, play it cool and work out how much you like him. Like him enough to go on another date? This is the point that you show your interest. Some women take the 'hard to get' thing too far. If you keep it up, he'll lose interest. Just relax and be yourself. What is meant to be will be.
